About me

Zachery Cabral, also known as Zach, is a multifaceted musician and video game enthusiast from a small town in New Hampshire. He formely was a dual-degree student at Berklee College of Music in Boston, studying Electronic Production and Design (EPD) and Game and Interactive Media Scoring (GAIMS) with a specialization in Video Game Sound Design and a minor in Creative Coding. Zach's passion lies at the intersection of music and video game production, where he excels as a video game composer, sound designer, audio implementer, and programmer.

Zach started his music journey as a bass guitarist, playing alternative rock and funk styles in the local teen circuit. He was awarded the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award and the department award and scholarship from his high school's music department upon graduation. Nowadays, Zach is highly focused on video game production, programming games in Unity and Unreal, and composing in various electronic, orchestral, rock, and metal styles.

Zach is a firm believer in the "T" skillset, with expertise in video game audio and a wider knowledge in related fields. Besides music, Zach has a deep love for hardware and reverse-engineering different pieces of Technology (both hardware and software) to understand every part of the process. He applies this same ideal to every aspect of his life. Zach has been on the dean's list almost every semester at Berklee and graduated from the college May 2024.

Here is a small selection of services that can be provided.

Sound Design

Proficiency in sourcing, editing, and processing audio within digital audio workstations (DAWs) to provide appropriate auditory experiences for varying media applications is evident in their work.

Media Scoring

Experience composing a wide variety of different media types, with a predominant focus on interactive media forms such as video games.

Plugin Design

Developing their own audio plugins, such as software synthesizers, sampling engines, and digital signal processers, using Csound and Cabbage.

Web Development

Use of various programming languages, including HTML, CSS, and Javascript, for the purposes of web development and other software design.

Game Development

Taught themselves how to code in LUA using the LOVE framework, using C# in Unity as well as GDscript in to create different systems within Godot, such as Audio Managers, rudimentary AI, and State Machines, as well as using MetaSounds and Blueprint to develop audio environments in Unreal.

Technical Audio Implementation

Using advanced Middleware engines such as Wwise and Fmod, created world class interactive audio systems and successfully implemented said systems into game engines such as Unity and Unreal.
